A national survey of 1,000 parents found that many do not know key points regarding potential safety problems for children.
Among the survey’s findings: One-in three parents are unaware that children can drown in as little as 2 inches of water. Less than half of parents know falls are the leading cause of accidental injuries to youngsters. And a lot more than half underestimate how long children must be in a booster seat.
‘Particularly in your community of car safety seat consumption, parental information will decrease as young ones age,’ mentioned Dr. Michael Gittelman, an emergency room pediatrician and medical adviser to ‘Access it Board with Child Safety,’ a national child injury prevention project. ‘Parents need specific information about different random injury risks to kiddies as they develop, from infant stage to youngsters to children and all the way through adolescence.’
Unintentional injuries are the major cause of death for U.S. Young ones ages 1-4 and under. ‘Get on Board with Son or daughter Safety’ was headed by the children’s brand ‘Safety 1st’ and the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions. They offer the following strategies for parents:
* Use a booster seat for children around 8 years or 80 pounds. Person seat belts will not fit such kids effectively unless they are in booster seats. When the belt sits excessive in the abdominal and neck areas, it can cause serious accidents in an automobile accident. Your youngster is approximately half as apt to be injured when working with a booster seat as opposed to a seat belt alone. Click here visit my website to explore when to look at this concept. * Will have your young ones wear a helmet. Bike accidents deliver each year thousands and thousands of kiddies ages 5 to 1-4 towards the emergency room.

Trampolines are even more dangerous when numerous children are jumping at once or whenever a son or daughter does somersaults.
